Dear CNI-ANNOUNCE subscribers,

PLENARY SESSION speakers at the 2002 CNI Fall Task Force meeting (December 5-6 in San Antonio) will explore current issues and the future of networked information.

The OPENING SESSION (December 5,1:00-2:30 p.m.) will feature CNI Executive Director Clifford Lynch addressing key developments in networked information, progress on the Coalition's agenda, and highlights from the new 2002-3 Program Plan. Cliff also will open the floor for questions and comments from the members.

Wondering how the deluge of digital information is changing the way people read and work? At our CLOSING SESSION (December 6, 2:30-3:30 p.m.) we will welcome Cathy Marshall, one of the world's leading authorities on hypertext. Cathy will speak on "Prospects for Reading in a Digital Age," addressing "work practice" and "technology-in-action" approaches to reading, annotating, and collaborating on digital materials. A Senior Researcher at Microsoft, Cathy works in an eclectic mix of communities on the frontiers of computer science, social science, and the arts. She is currently serving as Program Chair for the 2003 IEEE/ACM Joint Conference on Digital Libraries.

For more information on the plenary sessions and speakers, see the CNI 2002 Fall Task Force meeting Web site: http://www.cni.org/tfms/2002b.fall/plenary.html

We look forward to seeing you in San Antonio!
