The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has sponsored the publication of a book titled "Opening Up Education: The Collective Advancement of Education through Open Technology, Open Content and Open Knowledge" which is now available via MIT Press in hardcopy and also for free download under a Creative Commons license. The book is quite wide-ranging and the chapter authors include many names that will be familiar to the CNI community; I have a chapter in it titled "Digital Libraries, Learning Communities and Open Education".
