Modern libraries consist of a variety of complicated data systems, =20 many containing a portion of the data needed to address any specific =20 question. Often data needs to be extracted from one system and moved =20 to or compared with information in another. Frequently, these systems =20= don't communicate well. This in-person conference will explore a =20 number of ongoing data transfer and transformation consensus projects. =20= Whether it is collections or holdings information distributed via =20 ONIX, pricing data via CORE, or usage data via SUSHI, the community is =20= working on strategies and structures to easily transfer data from one =20= system to another. Each of these initiatives will contribute to saving =20= librarians time and eventually money in managing their operations. Confirmed speakers and topics for the program include: -- Opening Keynote: The Landscape of data Movement and Management in =20 Libraries by Tim Jewell (Director, Information Resources and Scholarly =20= Communication, University of Washington Libraries) -- The Extensible Catalog =96 Reusing Library Metadata by Jennifer Bowen = =20 (Director of Metadata Management, River Campus Libraries) -- CORE: Cost of Reuse Exchange=96 Combining Cost and Use Data in =20 Libraries by Jeff Aipperspach (Senior Product Manager, Serials =20 Solutions) -- The OAI-ORE Project =96 What It Is and How People Can Apply It by =20 Michael L.
