As data continue to proliferate=20 and research becomes more data intensive, the=20 discoverability of factual references also grows=20 in importance. For research funders and=20 policymakers, there is a need to better=20 understand data productivity and trends in=20 science, both quantitatively and qualitatively.=20 Yet the deluge of information and the diversity=20 of the datasets makes the task for all users of=20 data and facts that much more difficult. Despite the proliferation of models and solutions=20 in various disciplines and sectors, there is a=20 recognized need for a pervasive infrastructure,=20 standardization of approaches, and the usual=20 questions of who does what, where, and how? This=20 symposium therefore seeks to highlight some of=20 these different approaches, providing examples=20 that are both broadly interdisciplinary as well=20 as discipline-specific to finding the right data=20 at the right place in the right time. Although we=20 will not offer any common solutions to this set=20 of problems, we do hope to shed some light on the=20 underlying issues and provide an opportunity for=20 experts working in this area to interact, both=20 among each other and with the audience.
