The meeting’s closing session included a special briefing by Internet pioneer Robert Kahn, in addition to the closing plenary address by renowned computer and information scientist Ben Shneiderman, Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland. In The New ABCs of Research: Achieving Breakthrough Collaborations, Shneiderman discusses the changing nature of the research process itself, and what will be needed to meet the pressing challenges.
