In preparing the ECAR Working Group Paper, co-sponsored by CNI, Building Capacity for Digital Humanities: A Framework for Institutional Planning https://library.educause.edu/resources/2017/5/building-capacity-for-digital-humanities-a-framework-for-institutional-planning, one of the things we noted was the paucity of grants available for digital humanities and the need for better support. Recently, the US National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced a new challenge grant program to support humanities infrastructure. The announcement states "the mission of this Challenge Grants program is to strengthen the
institutional base of the humanities by enabling infrastructure
development and capacity building. Grants aim to help
institutions secure long-term support for their core activities and
expand efforts to preserve and create access to outstanding humanities
materials." |
