The Library Publishing Coalition (LPC), Wayne State University Library, and the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) are delighted to announce new ways to engage with the Library Publishing Curriculum.
Originally launched in 2018, the Library Publishing Curriculum is a suite of synchronous and asynchronous professional development offerings for librarians that are open and free under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license for anyone to offer or adapt. This dynamic, extensible, multimedia curriculum is intended to empower librarians to meet local demands to launch and/or enhance scholarly publishing activities. Originally published as a set of teaching materials available via Google Drive, the Curriculum now has an
official home on the LPC website and is available in three different formats: a collection of self-paced online courses, a textbook, and a permanent archive of the teaching materials.
Whether you are a student in a Library or Information Studies program, a library worker interested in starting a publishing program, or a staff member of an established library publishing unit, the Getting Started in Library Publishing series provides detailed guidance on how academic libraries can succeed in providing publishing services to their campus communities.
