This pulls together a good deal of work, including the responses to an Office of Science and Technology Policy request for comments in early 2020, and some of the evolving thinking coming out of the National Institutes of Health on FAIR data and the roles of specialist vs. generalist repositories. The report is at https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/05-2022-Desirable-Characteristics-of-Data-Repositories.pdf There's also a blog post that provides some helpful context at https://www.whitehouse.gov/ostp/news-updates/2022/05/26/new-guidance-to-ensure-federally-funded-research-data-equitably-benefits-all-of-america/ Clifford Lynch Director, CNI
