I recommend that anyone interested in how research practices in the sciences are changing spend a bit of time looking through some of these presentations ; the scale of data involved in these large scale science projects is genuinely enormous, probably larger than many people currently understand -- I certainly came away from the workshop with an expanded understanding of what the near future holds. It will challenge our networks and our computational, storage and stewardship strategies. Here are the details from the conference organizers: The 3rd Global Research Platform (3GRP) Workshop, co-located with the 18th IEEE International Conference on e-Science, took place October 10-11, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. An impressive group of 30 international speakers addressed a variety of topics, from large-scale science network requirements, to next-generation research platforms, orchestration among multiple domains, WAN transport, high-fidelity data flow, and international testbeds. The 3GRP program and presentations are now available on the GRP website. https://www.theglobalresearchplatform.net/meetings/the-3rd-global-research-platform-workshop-3grp/ The second afternoon of 3GRP was devoted to the Americas' Research Platform (AmRP), providing GRP participants in North, Central and South America, along with their key international partners, an opportunity to give updates on their R&E open exchange facilities (e.g., new services, significant new connections, technologies and testbeds) and their major national and international network initiatives. The program and presentations are also available on the GRP website: https://www.theglobalresearchplatform.net/americas-research-platform-amrp-meeting-15/ Clifford Lynch Director, CNI
