CNI invites individuals from its member institutions to register for a webinar Directions in Digital Scholarship: Support for Digital, Data-Intensive, and Computational Research: What’s Next? on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 1-2:30 PM Eastern. To register, please complete the form at https://cni.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_PjGlKWftQEuIVvf2ONMI_g#/registration

Join Lauren Di Monte, Associate University Librarian for Research & Learning, Yale University, Jay Brodeur, Associate Director for Digital Scholarship Infrastructure & Services, McMaster University, Anne Cong-Huyen, Director, Digital Scholarship, University of Michigan, Joe Bauer, Digital Scholarship Research Consultant, University of Michigan, and moderator Joan Lippincott, Associate Executive Director Emerita, CNI, as they describe their programs and talk about future directions, including campus partnerships, communication, reorganization of library units, and policy development and strategies related to current societal issues such as DEI.

This webinar is part of a CNI initiative exploring a broad and evolving set of research partnerships, services, instructional programs, events, and other activities where innovative approaches to digital content are integral to the research process. These activities include working with faculty and students in such technologies as GIS, text mining, data visualization, AR/VR, Python, 3-D printing, artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning, and many more. A recent set of invitational forums examined how different CNI member institutions have evolved programs in this area and how the programs are changing. Background information on the initiative and profiles of the programs of the 24 institutions that took part in the forums are available at https://www.cni.org/events/cni-workshops/directions-in-digital-scholarship-support-for-digital-data-intensive-and-computational-research-in-academic-libraries In addition, slides and a recording of the presentation about this initiative from the spring CNI meeting in Denver will soon be available via a link from this webpage.  A recording of the April 20 webinar Directions in Digital Scholarship: Support for Digital, Data-Intensive, and Computational Research in Three Institutions is now available from a link on the webpage.

If you are unable to attend the webinar on May 24, a publicly available recording will be linked from the webpage.

Thank you.
Joan Lippincott
