We are excited to announce that the Artificial Intelligence for Libraries, Archives, & Museums (ai4lam) community is holding its 2023 annual international conference, Fantastic Futures, on November 15-17 at Internet Archive Canada in Vancouver, Canada. The explosion of interest in, use of, and discussion about AI and its place in LAMs should make this yearĒs conference especially fruitful. The event will include workshops, an unconference, and in-person talks and presentations.

The conferenceĒs Call for Proposals is also now open. Please see the CFP submission link, https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ai4lam2023 and the eventĒs website, https://ff2023.archive.org/ for more information. The deadline for proposal is currently August 14, 2023. More information on the ai4lam community can be found at http://ai4lam.org/.

The program committee is looking for talks, presentations, and workshop proposals on the topic of artificial intelligence as applied to libraries, archives and museums. The conference aims to bring together a diverse group of participants including professionals from LAMs, as well as researchers, scholars, practitioners, industry representatives, policy and advocacy groups, and others interested in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in memory organizations and the preservation and access of knowledge. The conference will be an opportunity to share current experiences in AI, from practical local uses, to institutional best practices, education and training, partnerships and collaboration, tools and technologies, and other issues impacting cultural and scientific heritage. The event also encourages applications from those with different levels of institutional maturity when it comes to understanding, applying and deploying AI and encourages proposals and participants from a diversity of institution types, sizes, and especially geographic location.
