Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) invites project briefing =
proposals for the Fall 2023 Membership Meeting (December 11=E2=80=9312), =
which will be held at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.
=20
Submit your proposal via online form: =
https://www.cni.org/mm/fall-2023/project-briefing-proposals-f23
=20
The submission deadline is Tuesday, October 10, 2023
Project briefings (presentations) address state-of-the-art developments, =
issues of interest to the membership, a timely topic =
, or a specific project related to networked =
information content and technologies, particularly those that are =
cross-institutional or of broad interest to the community. Project =
briefings include information about a project=E2=80=99s goals, progress, =
and lessons learned, time for discussion, and perhaps demonstrations. =
Issue-oriented briefings include background information on a CNI-related =
topic and more time for general discussion =
with the audience.
Keep in Mind:
Anyone may propose a project briefing: you need not be affiliated with a =
member organization to propose a session.=20
The meeting will be held entirely in person; presenters are expected to =
register and speak in person except in very unusual circumstances. =
Speakers are invited to attend the entire meeting (there is no =
registration fee), though they (or their organizations) are responsible =
for their own expenses.
Project briefings are typically 30-minute to one-hour sessions. We also =
accept proposals for lightning round presentations (limited to five =
minutes, one presenter)
We intend to record all sessions and to make the videos openly available =
after the meeting. In some exceptional cases, we may accept a session =
that is not recorded at the request of presenters.
Submission & Evaluation Information
A limited number of project briefings will be accepted.* We encourage =
submissions that:
Address state-of-the-art developments and issues of interest to the =
membership (see CNI=E2=80=99s topics pages =
and recent member meetings =
for some =
themes that have been important to our work in recent years)
Focus on novel, timely, or creative approaches to community challenges =
related to digital information
Are geared to high-level administrators and policy makers
Feature topics that would particularly benefit from interactive =
discussion
Project briefings are not intended to serve as marketing sessions for =
products or services; presentations that are promotional in nature, =
including for non-profit services or initiatives, are not appropriate.
*CNI=E2=80=99s quarterly Pre-Recorded Project Briefing Series =
is designed to complement the =
project briefings at the biannual membership meetings, offering an =
opportunity to share updates and reports on new initiatives in a =
timelier manner and on a year-round basis. We encourage prospective =
speakers to explore this program as they consider submission options.
More meeting and proposal information is at =
https://www.cni.org/mm/fall-2023.=20
Contact me at paige@cni.org with any questions. =
We look forward to reviewing your submission.
Sincerely,
-Paige Pope, CNI Communications Coordinator
