Yesterday, the US National Science Foundation issued this interesting announcement about a new framework for assessing research proposals for potential national security risks. Note that this involves a limited pilot in areas related to quantum science and technologies, an assessment and fine-tuning, and then a scale up to a broader range of areas. See
