=46rom 2020 to 2024 the National Science, Technology and Security Roundtabl=
e held over a dozen meetings to gather information on the interactions betw=
een research and national security issues. On July 16-17, 2024 the Academie=
s held a Capstone Workshop to summarize and synthesize much of what was hea=
rd over the course of those meetings; I was able to attend the second day o=
f this meeting, which I found extremely informative, and I am looking forwa=
rd to watching the recordings from the first day. Please note that, unlike =
the consensus-based study committees that produce formal National Academies=
 reports, the roundtable was intended as a discussion forum representing a =
wide range of views.
