The EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) has just released a new Bulletin, “Institutional Strategies and Policies for Electronic Theses and Dissertations” by CNI Associate Executive Director Joan Lippincott. The Bulletin (vol. 2006, issue 13) is intended to provide an overview for campus decision-makers who are considering development of an institutional or consortial electronic thesis and dissertation (ETD) program. The bulletin describes key policy issues and the rationale for implementing an ETD program.
ECAR “provides timely research and analysis to help higher education leaders make better decisions about information technology.” They have many useful publications in their various series, which are generally available through membership. You will find this Bulletin freely available through the ECAR website at: http://www.educause.edu/ResearchBulletins/1007
