The most common examples of logistical networking in today's global Internet are caching and replication. NetStore'99 is targeting an expanded area of investigation which includes more general and innovative applications of storage resources in networking. In addition to submitted papers, Turing Award recipient Jim Gray will give a keynote talk. A panel discussion with experts from industry and academia is being organized on "The Convergence of Storage and Networking." NetStore'99 is being held in conjunction with the Internet2 Fall Member's Meeting (http://www.internet2.edu/html/fall99seattle.html) which takes place on October 11-13. NetStore'99 is sponsored by Internet2 and Innovative Computing Laboratory at the University of Tennessee.
