Joan Lippincott JISC and CNI International Conference: BRINGING COHERENCE TO NETWORKED INFORMATION FOR THE NEW CENTURY Stratford upon Avon June 14-16, 2000 We are pleased to announce that the U.K. Joint Information Systems Committee and the Coalition for Networked Information are hosting a major international conference at the Moat House Hotel, Stratford upon Avon on June 14-16, 2000. The conference will bring together experts from both the United States and the United Kingdom with keynote addresses from speakers from the National Science Foundation, the British Library, CNI and the JISC. Lynne Brindley, incoming Chief Executive of the British Library, will provide one of the keynotes. Parallel sessions will explore and contrast major developments that are happening on both sides of the Atlantic in fields such as intellectual property rights, digital preservation, middleware, access to digital resources and virtual universities. It should be of interest to all senior management in information services in the education community, and those responsible for delivering digital services and resources for learning, teaching and research. The conference will follow immediately after a NSF/JISC Workshop on the NSF Digital Libraries Initiative, being held at the same venue.
